Sarah Ferland, MSW, RSW

As a Registered Social Worker with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, Sarah has over six years of experience providing transformative counselling for diverse issues. Sarah has earned an Honours Degree in Psychology from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. Sarah continues to build her repertoire of knowledge by obtaining many other professional trainings that help guide her practice, such as Certificate in Addictions, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness, and others.

Sarah specializes in helping people find the root cause of what makes them feel, act, and think in ways that leave them stuck or hurt. She practices from a trauma-informed lens, meaning she understands that all people have encountered adverse experiences that shape how they interact with the world. When we lose sight of who we are or feel we have fallen off track, we are left with a sense of worthlessness, guilt, shame, anxiety, and depression. Sarah works with clients to build better relationships with themselves and others while finding healthier ways to cope so that they can live happier lives. Sarah guides clients through their healing journey, providing space for non-judgmental and compassionate therapy that results in real change.
